A Playlist to Set the Mood…

Some authors will give you song titles as chapter titles. Some authors will include lyrics in their prose, incorporating just the right line or lyric into their work so that you know what they were listening to or thinking of when they were writing.

I did one better and have created a playlist that works as a backdrop to the story. I listen to these songs (plus some others) while writing this novel. I may add to this list, but for now… Here are 23 songs that capture the essence of the story:

  1. After Midnight by Dorothy
  2. Closer by Kings of Leon
  3. Dark All Day by Gunship (feat. Tim Cappello and Indiana)
  4. Do I Wanna Know? by the Arctic Monkeys
  5. The Dolphin’s Cry by LIVE
  6. The Equaliser (Not Alone) by The Midnight
  7. Faith by Ghost
  8. I Can’t Break Away by Big Pig
  9. Into the Fire by Asking Alexandria
  10. Is Your Love Strong Enough? by Bryan Ferry
  11. Layers of Time by Lacuna Coil
  12. Let Him Burn by The Relentless
  13. No Light, No Light by Florence + the Machine
