Xander and Kat are reoccurring characters in both Beyond the Shadows and in SpellCast from Darkness.
Xander Williams is the best friend of Michael Hawkins, one of our main characters. He is intelligent, engaging, and protective. In Beyond the Shadows, he had a secret that was revealed, much to Celie’s benefit. In SpellCast from Darkness, he is the protective friend of Michael and Celie, and he is also the lover to Kat. Here is his introduction:
I spun around and there was a really attractive man standing at the top of the landing. He looked to be about Michael’s age (or the age he was when he died, anyway), with rich mocha brown skin and light gold eyes. His head was clean-shaven, his face bare except for a goatee. There was a slight accent in his smooth, deep velvety voice that I couldn’t place. And boy, did I mention he was attractive? His tight black shirt clearly showed muscles that were purrfect.
“What the – are you all male models?”
Kat has no last name because she’s been part of Celie’s life so long, she might as well be a sister. Kat is Celie’s best friend, and despite outward appearances, she’s fiercely obstinate. When Celie tries to keep secrets, Kat is ready to have a knockdown, drag-out fight over it. All she wants is to help, and sometimes she doesn’t realize those secrets are meant to protect her. Here is her introduction:
I looked up and saw Kat watching me with a perfectly groomed eyebrow arched in amusement.
“Nice trip,” she said. One hand was on her hip, the other hung at her side clutching a new black Coach purse. All ready to go, she was stylishly dressed, done up in a black pinstripe skirt and red button-down silk blouse. Her short, sunny blonde hair was straight and slicked back to showcase her gorgeous bone structure. White gold-hoops glistered at her delicate ears, and a simple white gold chain lay around her slender neck. I glanced at her feet and saw she had strappy, skinny black heels on. Her toes were perfectly manicured.
Like I said – stylishly dressed as always.
Between books, the two “friends of friends” had a chance to get to know each other and to develop a loving relationship. In SpellCast from Darkness, we examine their relationship more and more, even highlighting intimate moments between the lovers. You’ll learn how fierce Kat can be, and how caring Xander can be, and I promise you’ll love them as much as I do.
