Meet Fiadh Murphy

In “SpellCast from Darkness”, the main character, Celie meets a spry, sassy older Irish woman named Fiadh Murphy. She’s feisty, determined, and very caring. She insists on being called Fiadh and hardly ever takes ‘no’ for an answer. You’d best stay on her good side and make sure you come around for a spot o’ tae every now and then.

Here’s a description of her from the book…

Standing just outside the front door was a small elderly lady. She wore a deep, marine blue shawl wrapped around a tan dress, worn brown mary janes on her tiny feet. A few wisps of her snow-white hair blew across her weathered face with the gusty breeze, the rest held back in a french twist. She wore no jewelry, but her face beamed with a welcoming smile, and it was the only adornment she needed. Her cheeks were ruddy and her blue eyes twinkled, accentuated by the color of her wrap.

Needless to say, I fell in love with her immediately.
